The Quickel Room
The Quickel Room features a gas fireplace with a marble mantle, a ceiling fan, two closets, and two windows. There are even two entrances — one from the grand staircase and the other going down the back staircase directly into the kitchen. The Quickel offers access to the second floor balcony. The room is named for Alma Quickel, a beautiful school teacher who married Smyser Henry Bair, making her the daughter-in-law of Robert C. Bair and Ella (Smyser) Bair. Alma (Quickel) Biar was the last member of the Smyser-Bair family to live in the house. She passed away in 1979 and left the home to the historical society.
